Local residents healed their diseases for hundreds of years in the waters of the spring located on the Eastern shore of Baikal, which is now called Goryachinsk. Word about the healing properties of the spring spread with time among the Russian explorers who ventured in Siberia, and then all of Russia knew about it. The first resort was built here as early as 1751. Today Goryachinsk is a popular resort located 188 kilometers away from Ulan-Ude. The water from the spring helps heal respiratory and digestive organs, nervous system, gynecological diseases. A path from the resort to Baikal will take you through the nearby forest.
