This icy mountain kingdom surrounded by numerous legends is a very popular destination among Russian and foreigners alike. First off, obviously among those who like to be active and who want to test their endurance.
Munku-Sardyk (3491 m) is the highest mountain in Buryatia and the third highest in Russia after Elbrus (5642 m) and Belukha (4509 m). Every year annual mountain climbing events take place here. Three routes to the mountain’s peak of various difficulty are given. Not only will you climb to the peak during this trip, but you will also see canyons, train on the icefall and see the dawn by the lake 2700 meters above the ground.
